A Winter Wonderland in your Backyard

pavilion-321036_1920Holiday décor is one of our favorite ways to channel creativity into our homes for the end of the year. Welcome holiday guests, family, and friends to your home this year with some of these fun ideas for a festive lawn.

Ideate with creative lighting. Counter the winter season’s shorter days with a brightly lit exterior. Lighting options for this time of year are limitless. You can channel the ice and snow blanketing your lawn with drape icicle lights over fences, roofs, and outdoor furniture. Dazzle your neighbors with tree branches wrapped in small LED lights and incandescent bulbs that connect together. Garnish shrubs and bushes with net lights to brighten the plants that frame your home.

Choreograph your décor. If you’re feeling especially ambitious this holiday season, choreographed color changes and blinking in your lights can really amplify the quality of your holiday decorations. Festive white, blue, green, and red light twinkles animate any abode.

Explore with topiary figures and animals. Create an elegant, imaginative scene in front of your home with LED lit raindeer, birds, forest animals, and perhaps even Mr. Claus and his sleigh.

Amplify with winter plants. While your garden’s soil lay asleep beneath blankets of snow, add greenery and color to the lawn with lush door wreaths, miniature evergreens on the porch, pinecones in a welcome basket, sprigs of holly nestled between outdoor plants, and fragrant garland to line the rooftop. Pops of green, brown, and red serve as a gorgeous contrast to winter’s white snowfall.

Those are only a few ideas up our sleeves — for a consultation specific to your property, or to implement these holiday decoration ideas to perfection, give us a call and schedule an appointment. As an added bonus, our team at Landscape Concepts is offering 5% off all lighting and décor projects booked before Thanksgiving!
